In solidarity with immigrants in the United States participating in the May 1 boycott, citizens in Mexico protested on their side of the international bridge, which links Reynosa and Hildalgo, Texas. The number of protestors grew throughout the day and they successfully blocked all bridge traffic to the United States during the event. Most drivers gave up waiting and drove to the next point of entry.
