DETECTIVES ON THE BEAT
Darian Edwards makes a grab for the hat of Det. Jim Mingle as he and Det. Thomas Stoner walk the Poe Homes beat in the 800 block of West Lexington Street in Baltimore, Md. A group of local children had gathered around the two as they investigated fireworks in the area. As crime mounts in Baltimore, Mayor Sheila Dixon ordered detectives and other non-uniformed officers to start walking foot patrols.
