DC: SQUANDERED POTENTIAL
Washington D.C. schools rank among the worst in the nation due it's low test scores and high truancy. Calvin Coolidge High School is neither the best nor the worst. As a Coolidge graduate and the school's seventh principal in the past nine years, the new principal struggles to improve the overall school's performance. Although D.C.'s new mayor, Adrian Fenty, took control of the school system away from the school board in hopes of improving the deliquent system, places like Coolidge continue to hemorrhage both good teachers and the potential of the city's youth.
