Get It Right the First Time Available Light Portrait Workshop:
Bob Kahn is a PPA Certified Master Photographer who achieved his certification entirely with submissions of wedding images taken on the day of the wedding. No planned/posed session before or after the affairs were submitted. Get it right the first time because there are no "do-overs" became Bob's philosophy. By creating such a difficult challenge for himself, his experience and reputation grew exponentially. Subsequently, he was sponsored by Fuji Film and has conducted numerous portrait seminars on their behalf throughout the USA.
This workshop will consist of learning how to choose available physical settings with regard to light direction and background, the use of "negative light, and correct posing techniques for couples and small groups. In addition, Bob will discuss lighting direction and lighting patterns on our subjects faces so as to create natural light portraits without harsh shadows on our subjects faces. And finally Bob will demonstrate off-camera flash techniques, used to add a "kiss of light" to his images. For you sticklers, please bear in mind that sometimes flash is the only light "available".
Shootout
Vie for valuable prizes by participating in an Available Light Portrait Shootout. All attendees are invited to participate and apply what you have learned in the workshop. Submissions to professional and amateur catagories will be accepted and will be judged by BobKahn. The winners will be announced at the August meeting.
