DESCRIPTION:The White House News Photographers Association will have an election for the office of WHNPA President during the April 1 General Membership Meeting. During the meeting members who did not mail in their ballots will have the option to vote in person or have their ballots delivered. After the polls close the ballots will be counted and the winner will be announced. \nAll WHNPA Active and Life Members in good standing are encouraged to vote.

DESCRIPTION:Rick Friedman will lecture on location lighting during the April General Membership Meeting. \nAs photographers\, we are challenged to create a beautiful and compelling image everyday for a client or ourselves. In his lecture\, Rick discusses his portable location lighting techniques that enable him to capture his award winning imagery.\nThe lecture explores ways to create interesting lighting on location and in the studio.  Rick will share his stories of photographing and lighting some of his past subjects including Anthony Hopkins\, and President Obama.  As a magazine photojournalist\, his lighting is elaborate\, yet practical. \n\n\n  President Barack Obama\n  \n  \n\n\n  Sir Anthony Hopkins\n  \n  \n\n\n  Bill Gates at the National Urban League Conference\n  \n  \n\n\n  President Barack Obama\n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nBio:\nRick Friedman has been a photojournalist for over three decades. Based in Boston\, he travels the world for numerous publications\, corporations\, advertising assignments and film and television productions. His published work appears in Time\, Newsweek\, U.S. News\, The New York Times\, USA Today\, The Guardian\, Der Spiegel\, Stern\, Discover and many other publications. He has produced over 75 book and magazine covers.\nRick has been teaching his “Location Lighting Workshops™” for past ten years and has taught dozens of workshops across the US & UK.\nRick currently serves on board of directors for the Boston Press Photographers Association and is the past president of BPPA.   He has won awards from the American Society of Media Photographers\, the National Press Photographers Association\, and the Boston Press Photographers Association.
