Shelly Fielman Passes Away

The White House News Photographers Association regrets to announce that 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and NBC News Photographer Shelly Fielman passed away after a battle with cancer.

Fielman’s first day on the job was the day John F. Kennedy was shot. He since went on to cover the KKK, the assassination attempt of Ronald Reagan, and several other presidents’ tenures in the White House.

Fielman joined the WHNPA New Years Eve 1964. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
