2015 Eyes of History: Still Contest: On Capitol Hill

A feature or general news picture taken on Capitol Hill that depicts Congressional activity from, but not limited to, press conferences, hearings, rallies and behind-the-scenes situations. Photo should capture a unique or compelling moment, or the essence of the situation, even if taken during a photo-op.

Tireless: Congressman McCarthy is the Majority Leader in the House of Representative. He gets up before 7AM and works out in the House gym or some other outside sporting activity. At the end of the day, after most members and staff have gone home, the lights in his Capitol office are still on where he is usually working. He sleeps on a couch in his Rayburn office and often receives calls late into the night. Here he is still on the phone at 10:40 P.M.
