Devon McRae graduated from DC fire academy on Friday and starts his first shift Monday at 7 a.m. at Engine 6. Devon's father, Lt. Kevin McRae, was killed in the line of duty on May 6, 2015, in a fire in Shaw. The son is not only following dad onto the fire department, he's starting his career in the same fire house that his father had served in. Not only that, Devon's cousin, James McRae III, also died in the line of duty in 2007. The McRae's the last two DC firefighters to die in the line of duty.
